NEW MAGNIFYING PRODUCT

We now have a "Vision Booster Magnifier" that is only a bit larger than a mouse. This is an accessibility product for the visually impaired. The software is on the computer in the middle of the Adult section that doesn't have Internet.

  • The Magnifier plugs into the bottom USB on the front of the Hard Drive.

  • There is a switch on its cord and an icon on the computer.

The box with the magnifier is on my desk till we find a permanent place for it. It will not be left on the computer.

See me for a demo. Jody

TYPEWRITER

A typewriter has been put out for patron use. It can be found next to the copiers and is the same brand as the one at Circ.

  • The magnifying reader (that wasn't used) has been removed, but a replacement "product" is coming since accessibility is still important. More on this to come

Sad News

I'm sorry to say that Phyllis Frischkorn a former employee passed away Saturday morning. Phyllis was the library's fourth employee hired in 1983 and left in 2003. She worked at Read School and helped move the library into this building. Phyllis was a loyal employee and a wonderful friend. We extend our deepest sympathies to her children, Anne and Earle. The service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 am at O'Neil Funeral Home in Lockport.
