iREAD Poster Contest

We had a handful of entries for the iREAD Poster contest, but unfortunately an entry from another library was chosen as the winner within PALS. If someone comes in to pick up their poster entry, they are in Alex's office (against the wall on the right side as you are walking in). The kids' names are on the back of the entry form that's paperclipped to the poster.

September Chick Lit Meeting

The September meeting of the Chick Lit Discussion Group has been pushed back by one week, from September 24th to October 1st, because I will be at an ILA reception on the night of the 24th. All of the regular members know about the change, but the date on the calendar & newsletter is incorrect.

Rolling Library reserve materials

Please put any Rolling Library holds on JodyO's desk. It would be very helpful if the in transit receipts were placed in the items.

You will see expanded services and additions this coming year as we use grant awards, sponsorships, and Friends funding to develop a new *teen scene* nook, wii area, add or update computers, and begin our newest collection of DVD movies.

We will be seeking patron donations of any DVD movie (family and children collections are first priority) to help build the new movie collection, but all donations will be greatly appreciated!

More details will be forthcoming.

LIBRARY CARD SIGN UP MONTH

September is National Library Card Sign up Month. Eleven local businesses have agreed to participate in this promotion with us. When customers show their Homer library card at the participating place of business, they will receive a freebie/discount as indicated on the poster. Posters will be displayed at the Circulation desk and at each participating business. A list of participating businesses will also be available on our web site. Promotion runs from September 1st - September 30th.

Carpet Cleaning

We are getting the carpet cleaned over Labor Day weekend.
The man will be here on Saturday, August 30 at 3:30 so you can lock him in and don’t set the alarm.
He’ll call Sheree to close.
