IDEA BUCKETS - Your input is Needed!

We are looking for your top 3 ideas, thoughts, compliments, issues, suggestions, recommendations, tweaks, or notes, etc. that you may want to note to any department.

We have placed "Idea Buckets" for each department in the staff kitchen, so simply type or print out your thought and place it in any department's bucket. Idea bucket thoughts will be reviewed and discussed on Friday, April 4 @ our in-service day during the department round table team meetings (not with the entire staff).

Before Friday, April 4 please think about your department and our other library departments. Submit your top three (or more) ideas! All submissions will be anonymous and will be used for discussion to strengthen teamwork and communication. This is a new forum in which we can encourage communication and extend an opportunity for all departments to receive staff input!

All "Idea Buckets" have the names of every department's team member on them.

Some ground rules:
~~Positive comments are best received; make suggestions if you have an idea for change.
~~Everyone is expected to participate. Remember the entire department team will be reviewing comments.

PARTICIPATE & BE HEARD!

Time Management

Until patrons become accustomed to the time management on the computers, will you let them know that there is a 60 minute time limit on each computer. Tell them they have to come to the desk when they have 10 minutes left and provided no one is waiting we will extend their time. Also, remind them to save their work as they go ~ if the time limit is up, they lose all their work.

Thanks,
Sara

Time Management Update ~ VIP

PLEASE NOTE: When you extend a patron's time on the computers in the lab, the time does not revert back to the 60 minutes once that patron signs off the computer. Therefore, will you go back into the time management and put the time limit back to the original 60 minutes?

If you have any questions, please ask me.

Thanks.

10 Weeks to a Tech Savvy Parent

10 weeks to a tech savvy parent
You may have seen the business cards advertising the library's 10 Weeks to a Tech Savvy Parent. This is a small part of our computer grant. For the next 10 weeks, this project, hosted on learnhub.com, will cover one Web 2.0 tool and a few Internet Safety tips. This program is not just for parents but for all patrons! The idea is to get parents and adults familiar with the tools that their children, business associates, friends and family may be using.
At this time, parents will need to register on learnhub.com to access the “course.”
We're taking patron suggestions. If they'd like to see something covered, please let use know.
